Reclaiming the Goddess: Self Care as Sacred Ritual

Where:
Bear Valley Organics Farm
17550 Bear Valley Lane Escondido, CA 92027

What:

Have you ever wondered how to find time for self care? When you do have some free time, do you draw a blank on how to spend it and end up just bingeing on Netflix?

Unfortunately, most women have a habit of putting self care on the back burner. We live in a society where 1 in 2 people live with chronic physical and mental health conditions, and women are statistically more likely to suffer from invisible illnesses like chronic fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis, Lyme Disease, or depression. That means most women are walking around every day in pain, low on energy, and beating themselves up because they can’t get enough done.

And in the midst of all that, Instagrammers with fancy aesthetics are telling you that all you have to do is take care of yourself. But when taking care of yourself also includes getting bills paid and making sure there are groceries in the fridge, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of time left over for those fancy bath bombs everyone’s posting pictures of.

Yet it is true that taking time to take care of yourself can help immensely: when you take the time to relax, make art, meditate, or exercise (even just for 10 minutes) it can boost your happiness and confidence throughout your day. And when you practice self care regularly it can help boost your energy levels for everything else you need to get done.

In this workshop, Eleanor will teach you a brand new model of what it means to take care of yourself: not just the practices, but ways to include these practices in a busy schedule. She’ll share her favorite strategies for finding time in your day, as well as her top tips for making sure that time is well spent. You’ll leave the workshop with actionable tips and tools to help you start – and continue – a self care practice that honors your body as the temple it is.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Create your own personalized self care plan (that works for you and with you!)
  • Learn why unexpected obligations keep eating away at your time and how to stop them
  • Gift yourself a tangible self care experience to ground and calm your nervous system
  • Discover pockets of time anyone can take advantage of – however big your to-do list
  • Get Eleanor’s #1 tip on how to make any day feel successful, no matter how low on energy you are

Event Price: $35

About the Host:

Eleanor knows intimately how easy it is for people to assume a woman is healthy and to ask the world of her. By 16 she was living with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, and migraines, and at 21 a car accident added severe physical injuries, PTSD, and a brain injury to her list of conditions and symptoms, resulting in a deep depression. Now, at 26, she has turned her life around completely. No longer stuck in bed every day, Eleanor enjoys a vibrant and active life as a nude model, author, and Women’s Empowerment catalyst, helping women with invisible illnesses to lead happy and successful lives without compromising their health.
