July was packing some serious heat, in the pounds of spicy guacamole consumed and bouts of intense heat waves experienced. Grateful the majority of our plants and farm family survived and very grateful for what we have, unfortunately chickens weren’t so lucky.
July marks the end of our avocado season. We learned so much working together picking/packing/and delivering, it was great community building during our first full avocado season together. We love having the opportunity to offer avocados, the Gold Standard in health!
We are looking forward to the upcoming harvest seasons. We have figs on deck and my goodness are we grateful to have these green striped gems. Our panache figs taste like the inside of a jelly donut – I can’t seem to get over the flavorful sweetness and texture of our figs! Soon you can taste our beautiful figs at a Jimbo’s Naturally near you or here at BVO.
We have a new wellness event this month, a meditation class offering a dive into this marvelous practice. You can find details and other wellness/yoga events on our events page.
We are excited for a productive & fulfilling August, hopefully cooler!

Pretty Panache striped figs ripening up for harvest!
July hosted a National Cheesecake Day on the 30th & on July 31st we celebrated all the ways we love avocados for National Avocado Day. This beauty of a raw vegan cake was created by our friend Hannah from OhJuice, and enjoyed here on the farm.

The food scene at our July Full Moon Circle was on point. If you are ever curious about what one entails, join us next full moon! We keep the agenda simple: hiking, yoga, nature arts & crafts, sage bundling. We enjoy a nourishing community potluck, then embrace a sharing & intention setting circle.
